The St. John Education Committee and Church Council have made the decision to create a NEW LOOK to kick off the 2020-2021 Sunday School year. St. John Sunday School students from pre-school through 6th grade will explore God’s word and God’s world with the Faithweaver Now curriculum.
The Virtual Sunday School plan includes porch visits every two weeks, providing “kits” with two weeks of Faithweaver Now School activities, worksheets, puzzles, and more. Online videos will compliment the porch visits.
We will enjoy this journey together - even though we are apart!!

Every three years, 30,000 high school youth and adult leaders from around the world gather for a week of faith formation known as the ELCA Youth Gathering. Through days spent in interactive learning, Bible study, service and fellowship, young people grow in faith and are challenged and inspired to live their faith in their daily lives. Participants in the 2020 Turkey Trot, help St. John youth to raise funds to help offset costs associated with the 2022 National Youth Gathering. We thank you for your support!
The 2020 Turkey Trot Virtual 5K Walk/Run/Bike will kicked off Sunday, November 22 and concludes Saturday, November 28. Additional details may be found here.
ST. JOHN LUTHERAN CHURCH WORSHIP DETAILS
Until further notice, in-person worship at St. John Lutheran Church has been suspended. The 10:30 Sunday services will be streamed each week, on stjohnrussell.com and Facebook. Radio broadcast of the 10:30 am Sunday services (second, fourth, and fifth Sundays) can be heard on KRSL 990 AM and 98.1 FM, and NexTech Cable Channel 130.
St. John will continue to offer "curbside" Eucharist Sunday mornings from 9:00 to 10:15 am, weather permitting. Individuals wishing to commune are asked to take Artesia (the one-way street between St. John and the Courthouse) and drive to the Southeast Entrance.
Masks will be required for all individuals over the age when entering St. John. Although there are strong opinions about wearing masks, pray for understanding, as this is one of a number of stipulations we need to observe for the moment.
Blessings -
